In this last brutal plague we see how the horror of God’s judgement on Egypt ‘passes over’ His own people. This event has real significance for Christians – as we too have had God’s judgement ‘pass over’ us through the horrific death of Jesus. Let’s not forget what it cost to save us!

The liberation of God’s people comes at a price – the Egyptians have to face God’s judgement. Plague after plague, God shows us He’s a God of both salvation and judgement, and despite how it looks, He’s got it sorted!

As we kick-off this new series in Exodus, we see how our God is a God who preserves His people and always sticks to His promises. It’s awesome that we’re part of a protected people, so let’s throw ourselves into being a part of that!
